Harvey finds a new home...

What's a girl to do?! I really did try to be professional, detached and sensible, I even advertised him, (thank goodness noone rang) but alas, I found myself describing exactly who I wanted to have Harvey - and it sounded a lot like myself. So I took my own advice. He's now mine, which feels fantastic, and two days into my ownership and he is lame - and I am poulticing a hoof with a nail hole in the sole! Still, he is being really very good about being stuck in, and hopefully we will be sound and out exploring the forest again by next week. I have found a hacking track that takes me straight to Brightling XC course, which I have been playing with with Banksy - see gallery photos, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what Harvey makes of it when he has his shoe back on.
There has been so much work to do with the horses this week that I am entirely behind on paperwork and I am bound to the computer this morning (although looking out of the window and thinking of riding!) As well as Kelly's 2 youngsers, Romi and Banksy, and Harvey, I have been riding two for Jim - Shadow is a stunning little newforest pony whose breaks we are re-wiring, and Dolly, an absolute angel who I am preparing for sale. I have been taking my camera out with me to some home visits this week, but need Han to show me how to get the pictures off it, so do check back for pictures of Archie - the 5yo, just-cut Ardennes who needed preparatory training for his first conscious farrier visit, and Dilly, a stunning 3 year old with a floating white mane as she learns to longline (and lead without airs above the ground!).
Finally, I hope you are all enjoying the weather, whatever you have got, yesterday, I heard a lady moaning about the sun, and wishing for rain. Today, there is the most heavenly light mist of rain, and I hear the same lady moaning that 'the sun never lasts!'. Still, I have read that we British moan about the weather as a way of bonding, so I'll take it as a compliment!
Back to the accounts for me then!!
